The Lore of Alca casts echoes throughout Time; from the to the Year 926, this timeline attempts to piece together the storied histories of Soulframe.

Overview

The Timeline attempts to piece together all known pieces of Lore that detail Alca's history, and present a reliable and referencable sequence of historical events.

Note that the precise date of certain events and eras, such as the Quiet Era, are as yet unknown - where this is the case, this shall be clearly stated within the Timeline itself.

The Era of the Ancients

Year unknown. May precede recorded history.

Possibly an age of Gods, a time of the ancient Fey, or both. At some point in the very distant past, Mora and Saphene had a great, planet-rending fight.^[1] Some time prior to the existence of the Fey, Iridis is born to the two suns. Iridis himself has three children:

His firstborn (and half-god, half-Sibyl) son, Oro
His secondborn son, Verus
His thirdborn child, neither son nor daughter; Paladine

Prior to the birth of humanity, Iridis and Oro grant the Fey their magicks through Oro's Well. Eventually, a Fey named Alora is crowned Empress, and she casts a great many magicks upon the isle of Midrath - not only does this change the land, but also ushers new life, such as the Sproutfolk. Mankind makes their emergence (perhaps at Alora's behest, though it is unsure if the legend of the World Trees rings true), and lives in peaceful coexistence amongst the Fey - for a time.

The Felling

Year 0 (Unconfirmed)

926 years ago, a significant event occurs in Alca's history that becomes the reference point for the current dating system. It is assumed that this was The Felling, a catastrophic war between the Fey and humanity.

The Quite Years (Unconfirmed)

Post-Felling

After The Felling, Tethren's half-brother Pothus crafts the Thrice Spurns for her in complete silence. Oscelda conjures Esthelle in a futile attempt to right her betrayal of Alora.

Auld Priori is built without a single spoken word.

The Borro complex beings as a tin extraction site.

Certain humans warriors from this time would much later become the creatures now known as Mockeries.

Kaxian Princess Exiled

Early 300s

A princess of Kaxia is exiled, and she takes up residence in Creedance High upon the eastern coast of Midrath.

Construction of Garren Shrine

Year 310

Garren Shrine is constructed to honour the Omen Beast, Odulf Rood.

Cassid Invasion of Midrath

Year 401

The armies of Cassia sail to Midrath, beginning the Cassid Occupation.

Cassid general Napo Agnes converts several Dendrit watchtowers to astrologist's chambers.

The Mines of Borro are re-opened, but later closed again after several Cassid workers go missing in its depths.

Settlers from Skelfland arrive with the Cassids.

The Darning Flood

Year 562

The port town of Salzbrim and the popular Drippin' Flagon tavern are flooded. It is said that half the worlds pirates sailed to Salzbrim to aid the tavern.

Cassid Occupation of Midrath Continues

1st Juith, Year 576

Eeda sneaks out of the Dermak Undercity to steal bread from Cassid collaborators.

Cassid Occupation of Midrath Ends

Year 603

The Cassids are finally chased from Midrath after Napo Agnes is defeated by the Fenn Jotar and his Basker army. Afterwards, the Baskers would turn their weapons to the Cassid collaborators, to which Fenn Jotar could only watch on in horror. The settlers from Skelfland are asked to stay, however, and they eventually found the town of Skelfies, with the first ever windmill on Midrath.

The Circade's Final Death

Year 639

At the command of King Jotar, The Circade is sealed away in the Crypt of The Circade and his soul is bound to the Triune Talisman by the Elder Aithbhreac.

Muireall Jotar is born

Year 669

Year 678

Muireall Jotar writes the nine laws of her reign.

Coronation of Queen Muireall Jotar

Year 680

Muireall Jotar is crowned Queen of Midrath at only 11 years of age.

The Fonnish Charge & Founding of the Knightmaidens

Year 717

Upon hearing Fort Curlail would be besieged by nightfall, The Mendicant King lead his army southwards to meet them. The entire army perished without a single blade drawn. Upon hearing of this, the ladies and maidens of Curlail would don the ancient armours, leading to the founding of the Knightmaidens.

College of Pensives Established

Year 776

The College of Pensives is established by Schoolmaster Sicletrude as a library of feybles.

Orlick enrolls as a prentice.

Literatura Horarum

1st Fabra, Year 895

Orlick, now a Sage within the Order of the Pensives, would present his treatise “Capricious Crops” to the Archsage for submission. Additionally, another Sage, Rodrich, would bring his treatise “The Forest’s Vast Voices” before the Archsage. Ultimately, Sage Rodrich would earn the Aurem Canus’ seal, while Orlick's treatise would be rejected on accounts of unsupported claims.

The Knightmaiden Lady Cyrila of Curlail would also request a scribe for a Salzbrim Port parley.
