Neath'uns

The Neath'uns is a Dungeon located beneath the isle of Midrath. It is set amongst the sacred roots of the Voicing Trees; a place of seeming light and warmth, were it not for the Corruption that seeps into each drop of sap.

The Neath'uns become accessible upon completion of The Waste Bear Fable.

Note that no official name exists for each entrance; instead, each Neath'uns entrance has been named by its general location on the isle of Midrath.

Northern Midrath:

• Wevetwood Entrance - Southeast of the Voicing Tree Council at the heart of the Wevetwood
• Sinklands Entrance - In the eastern side of the Sinkland Depths
• Lake Moray Entrance - South of Moray, on the western side of the lake

Central Midrath:

• Central Forest Entrance - In the forests to the southeast of Oro's Well

The Neath'uns are an ancient underground tunnel system that connects the roots of the mighty Voicing Trees. These tunnels act as both a passageway and a living network that sustains Midrath's oldest flora, carrying deep spiritual significance.

At the heart of the Neath'uns dwells

, an Omen Bear who serves as its Arbearer.

Bromius tended to the root systems of the Voicing Trees and upheld sacred traditions. Logging was not a common trade but a privilege granted only through the Arbearer's blessing. Groups such as the Spruce loggers of the Hews cabins were permitted to harvest trees, and each felling was regarded as a blessing rather than a loss.

The arrival of the Ode brought devastation to the Neath'uns. With the destructive practice of Thunderstone felling, the Ode's pollution seeped into the roots of the Voicing Trees, poisoning the sacred tunnels. Bromius, once a devoted guardian, became corrupted after drinking the tainted sap of the Neath'uns' roots.

Twisted by this influence, the Arbearer's role as protector has been tainted, turning him into a twisted monstrosity.
