Cassid Occupation

Cassid Occupation of Midrath
Agnes also sent numerous foremen to scrounge leftover minerals from the rediscovered Mines of Borro to take back to New Cassia. But as they went missing within its depths, the general ultimately sealed up the Mines.[2]
A small community of people from Skelfland also arrived within Midrath during the Cassid Occupation, and were beloved by both the Cassids and Midrathians alike.[3]

After 202 years, the Cassid Occupation was ended single-handedly by Fenn Jotar, the Fire King, who defended his Dermak Undercity from the Cassid takeover with his flaming sword of legend,
.[4] After so long underground, Midrath was taken back by the Dendrit people. However, it did not end with the celebration Jotar thought it would: as the fires of battle still raged, they were turned on his own people.
In the same year, a group of rebels formed from within the Undercity - vigilantes who called themselves the Baskers. They forged the courage of the sun goddess
Morainto flaming Wristcasters known as
. Jotar watched in horror as the Baskers set their homeland ablaze in their retaliation against the Cassids, burning any who had collaborated with the invaders.[5]
Despite the Skelflandish people arriving during the invasion, they were asked to stay after the Cassids left Midrath. They founded their own village, Skelfies, which soon became home to many Skelflandish thereafter - as well as the first ever windmill on Midrathian soil.[3]

Whilst the occupation was quelled centuries ago, Fenn Jotar fights an eternal war in his undeath. Prior to the introduction of Votives, during Sparrow's Tales for the Kith of Kings, Fenn would speak to the
Player Envoyas if the Ode invaders were themselves Cassids, urging them to drive back the invaders.
Whilst the rest of Alca fights a new war, for Jotar, the Cassid Reign never truly ended.
