Nightfold

Overview
The Nightfold, situated upon the fabled Silvern Sea, is Soulframe's central player hub.
It offers access to many of Soulframe's core mechanics, such as Crafting, Reforging,
Bestitching, Colour Customisation, and equipping items via the Arsenal.
Most of these are accessed by speaking to the Envoy's Ancestors; key characters who join the Envoy on their journey. They inhabit the Nightfold, each offering specific gameplay mechanics and interactions.
Table of Ancestors
A lifelong member of the College of Pensives, now your personal scribe. Orlick the Bicameral is so named for the infant upon his shoulder, his 'Little Genius'. Mayhaps, in his endless afterlife, Orlick will finally find the time to finish his book…
Successor to Kane, the Steelsinger of legend. Tuvalkane toiled under master's tutelage until the very moment of her untimely death. Days of hammering. Nights of sharpening. All to reach an eternal afterlife... Back in the bellows.
The Brewer of Hues, the master of Poppets; she is the Witch Verminia. Seemingly rendered colourblind by death, Verminia relies on the auras of the afterlife to sniff her way around. Assuredly, this hinders not her impeccable taste in fashion.
A Dale Seer camel, and merchant within the Nightfold. A member of the otherwise-enslaved Arid Caravan. Zenith allows Envoys to access the Wares of Zenith, Soulframe's in-game market.
Arsenal

The Arsenal, located at the rear of the Nightfold's tent, is Soulframe's equipment screen. Here, the Envoy may equip items from their Inventory:
- Weapons, which includes both Primary Weapons and Sidearms, and may be upgraded via their Combat Arts trees
- Enchantments, which may be applied by Right-clicking on a Weapon or Sidearm within the Arsenal
- This functionality currently appears to be bugged, but the Enchantments screen can still be accessed from the main Arsenal screen by Left-clicking the Rune next to a weapon.
- Armour, Accessories, and Guide Skins
Loadouts
Loadouts are specific groupings of equipment the player may save in the Arsenal. Similar to Storage Capacity, Loadouts consume Loadout Capacity - this may be purchased in the Wares of Zenith for
20 each, up to a maximum of 15 Loadouts.
Once created, a Loadout cannot be deleted - but it can be overwritten and renamed as many times as required.
Loadouts will save Bestitched appearances separately, allowing the Envoy to customise each of their Loadouts with a different look, saving their preferred outfits.
Available Loadout Capacity may be seen from the Slots tab of the Wares of Zenith, by looking at the top-right number in the Loadout Capacity tile.
Compendium
The Compendium view may be toggled on and off whilst browsing the Envoy's items or enchantments within the Arsenal. Rather than displaying only owned items, it will list every obtainable item in the game. Unowned items will be shown as a greyed-out silhouette, indicating that there is something out there the Envoy has yet to discover.
Note that the Compendium is often prone to showing a bugged silhouette of unacquirable items. These items are often unreleased or developer equipment using existing item icons as placeholders and are easily identified by checking if an owned item shares the same silhouette.
Wise Elm

Upon completing The Waste Bear, the Nightfold will also be home to the Wise Elm from which 1-3
may be harvested every 12 hours to use in Soulframe's Fast Travel system.
The Elm can be found on the left-hand edge of
Verminia'sstation.
Trivia
The Wise Elm used to have a unique harvesting animation, where the Envoy would reach out from the ledge of Verminia's station to pluck it from the Elm.
However, due to no longer needing to be on said ledge to interact with the Wise Elm, this animation was removed with Preludes 12: Thawtide and replaced with a generic grab animation, such as when looting a Weapon Rack. It is unknown if the unique animation will return.
Eternium Gardens
Whilst in the Nightfold, use the Fipple Flute emote and successfully play the song to be spirited away into the Eternium Gardens.
Lore
"From braided root to sprig to bough, Ancestral souls find home when the Wevetwood sprouts." - Nightfold Tree Concept Reveal
Little is yet known regarding the nature and Lore of the Nightfold and the Silvern Sea - though the Nightfold may hold some connection to the Fey, due to the presence of a hollowed World Tree at its core.
Trivia
- It used to be possible to enter the Nightfold whilst crouching, but this functionality stopped working in Preludes 11; now the player must manually stand up prior to holding the Nightfold input. It is unknown if this was intentional.
- The Envoy used to be able to perform heavy attacks and throw their weapon whilst in the Nightfold, until this functionality was removed in Preludes 14. It is confirmed this was removal was intentional.
