Armour

For enemy armour, see Enemy Armour.
Overview

Helms, Cuirasses, and Leggings may be equipped via the Arsenal in the Nightfold. Unlike Weapons and Pacts, Armour cannot be Leveled, though it does consume Storage Capacity.
Each piece grants Defensive Stats tied to three core damage types (Physical, Magick, and Stability):
Physical Defense: Reduces incoming Damage from Physical Damage Types, such as attacks from a Sinecure's sword or a Mockery's swings.
Each piece contributes to the Envoy's total defense, displayed in the top-right corner of the Arsenal. This includes a combined total and a breakdown by Damage Type.

Accessories
Envoys may also equip Talismans, whose effects vary - some provide Virtue bonuses, whilst others may increase Offensive / Defensive stats - or even a mixture of both. Unlike Armour, Talismans do not consume Storage Capacity.

Attunement is a Gameplay mechanic that allows Armour to provide additional protection, scaling with the Envoy's Virtues. Armour has a Virtue Requirement which must be met for this bonus to apply.

Moonsteel Thread.
- Bestitching for Talismans has been confirmed for a future update.

Trivia
- Prior to Preludes 14.5: Ode'n Tempers, Envoys could carry unlimited Armour as it consumed no Storage Capacity. When this was changed in Preludes 14.5, the previous Pact and Weapon slots were combined into universal Storage Capacity, and all Armour was granted matching Storage Capacity, so existing items remained covered.
- Prior to Preludes 12: Thawtide, Talismans were also categorised as Armour. With the release of Thawtide, they were moved into a new category named Accessories.
- In Preludes 9 and earlier, Armour was purely cosmetic, and any piece could be worn with no impact on the player's stats. This was changed in Preludes 10, when defensive stats were placed onto Armour.
