Votives

Overview

Votives are a broad term encompassing all of the objectives that can be found on the Votives Shrine at each World Tree, or by speaking to Enclave representatives found out in the overworld.
The Envoy may pick up randomly generated objectives such as Sparrow's Tales; or nearby World Events and Mini-Quests, located in specific locations around the map. Votives can include:
Cogah
*Sparrow's Tales may not be acquired during The Cogah, but the Shrine may still be interacted with for other Votives such as Sieges or Operations.
World Events may also be encountered by approaching them in the world, and do not necessarily have to be picked up via Votive. Their reward will not differ, whether they were begun from their Votive, or organically through exploration.

Sparrow's Tales

![]()
Sparrow's Tales are missions the Envoy must perform for their Enclave in order to earn Standing. They are split into 3 tiers, signaled by the amount of stars on their Votive:

Each Tale is generated semi-randomly based on the nearby surroundings, and the level range of Foes in the area.
See Sparrow's Tales for more information.
Mini-Quests
Whilst most Mini-Quests are found naturally through exploration, a select few are available only as Votives:
Operations
Operations may be initiated naturally by approaching them in the world, but they can also be started from their associated Votive at any World Tree nearby to an active Operation.
Hark, the Collector may be initiated naturally by approaching a descended Collector, but it can also be started from its associated Votive at any World Tree nearby an active Hark the Collector event.
The Organ may be initiated by approaching an Ode'n Organ, but it can be found as a Votive on World Trees near Organ sites.
Sieges
Sieges may be initiated by approaching a captured fortress, but they can be found as Votives on World Trees near Siege locations.

Trivia
- The Votives are inspired by the ema (small wooden plaques) hung on Japanese shrines, where one would leave a prayer and hang it as a communication to the gods.
- Despite the user interface, no visible Votives can actually be seen on the World Trees themselves. Instead, each World Tree is strung with opalescent gemstones, copper-coloured keys, and sheets of paper.
- Prior to the introduction of Votives with Preludes 13, Sparrow's Tales would populate the map periodically and were started by travelling to the marker and speaking with a representative from the Envoy's current Enclave.
