Tempers

Overview

Tempers are an aspect of Soulframe's Weapons; unique modifiers, each of which grants specific augmented properties to the Weapon.
To browse all Tempers, see the Index of Tempers.
Acquiring Tempers
Tempers are rolled randomly when a Weapon is first dropped, purchased or Crafted. The number of Tempers that can appear on a Weapon are determined by its Craftwork; an aspect which determines its quality, represented by six tiers:
- Stock (0-1 Tempers)
- Military (1-3 Tempers)
- Officer (2-4 Tempers)
- Noble (3-5 Tempers)
- Sovereign (4-6 Tempers)
- Legendary (5-8 Tempers)
Numbers of Tempers have varied during Preludes 15, and may be bugged, such as Legendaries dropping with fewer than 5 Tempers. Feel free to update if you have any further information!
Double-Stacked Tempers

Up to Two of the same Temper may be rolled on a Weapon, providing twice the effect, and taking two Temper slots. This is known as a Double-Stacked Temper, indicated by a flashing effect on its frame (not to be confused with the frame design, which indicates the Temper's associated Origin).
A doubled Temper is also indicated via the
Double-stack Icon in the more detailed Tempers tab of the Weapon's tooltip. Multiple different Tempers may be Double-Stacked on the same Weapon.
Refining
A Weapon can be Refined to a higher Craftwork using Chordstones. This will always grant at least 2 Tempers if it does not exceed the Temper limit of the Craftwork being upgraded into. Refining a Weapon to Legendary will always grant 8 Tempers, to ensure the maximum amount is reached.
See Refining for more information on this system.

Categories
Many Tempers will appear only on a specific range of Weapons, based on two criteria; Weapon Type and Origin.
Some Tempers may have both a specific Weapon Type and Origin; such as
, which will only appear on Feykin Staves. Other Tempers, such as
, are truly Universal and can roll on any Weapon in Soulframe.
Weapon Type
Some Tempers are exclusive to a Weapon Type (not necessarily a Combat Art) - either Melee, Bow or Magick.
- Melee Tempers will appear only on Melee Weapons. This includes Heavy Weapons, Long Blades, Polearms, Shields and Short Blades.
- Bow Tempers will appear only on Bows.
- Magick Tempers will appear only on Magick Weapons. This includes both Staves and Wrist Casters.
There are notably no Flyblade-specific Tempers, making them the only Combat Art not present within Weapon-specific Tempers.

Many Tempers are exclusive to a specific Weapon Origin, as indicated by the Frame around the Temper itself:
