Overview

A group of Envoys defend Midrath against the Sinecure in Multiplayer Co-op.

Soulframe allows co-operative multiplayer for up to 4 players. It does not currently have Matchmaking (queueing for content with randomised players); for now, parties must be arranged manually via the Recruiting chat, or external means such as the Recruiting Channel of the Official Soulframe Discord.

To play Co-op, players must have completed Rise, Envoy. One player (the Host) sends an invite to up to three other players (the Clients). This can be done by clicking their name in Chat, or in the Friends List.

The Clients will join the Host in their world, and they can then perform any activity together the same as if the Host were playing solo. Foes will be scaled depending on the number of Envoys in the party.

Note that it is not currently recommended to play Fables in Co-op as it may lead to bugs, resulting in some players having to replay the Fable or missing Fable rewards.

Text Chat includes Region, Recruiting, and Q&A tabs; as well as DMs (Direct Messages) upon messaging another player privately. Region Chat is disabled by default, and must be enabled via Settings > Social.

Voice Chat may be used to communicate with party members through a push-to-talk system.

Emotes such as Sit, Wave, Music and more may be accessed via the Emote Wheel.

Social Hubs

The Silent Rose Enclave, one of Soulframe's multiple social hubs.

Certain locations such as Enclaves or the Eternium Gardens act as Social Hubs, meaning that other Envoys may be seen and spoken to. Interacting with an Envoy performing the 'Sit' emote will invite them to play a game of Regatta.

Nearby players may also be seen out in the overworld when near a World Tree, allowing the Trees to function as a Multiplayer Hub. Envoys can be inspected to check their gear and Envoy Rank, and can be invited to the player's party.

Trading

Soulframe's in-game Trading interface.

Trading is an Upcoming feature arriving with Preludes 15 which will allow Envoys to trade their items with other players at Social Hubs.

Initiating a Trade

To initiate a trade, one player must perform the Trade Emote, accessed and activated through the Emotes tab of the in-game Radial Menu / Equipment Wheel (default X + RMB, labelled as "Consumables" in the Keybinds menu).

This will cause their Envoy to raise their right arm; another player may then interact with the first to initiate the trade.

Scutage

Each trade will cost Scutage, a tax paid in DracsDracs. The amount of Scutage depends on the intrinsic value of the items traded by the player.

Trivia

  • Scutage was a medieval English tax, levied against knights who wished to remain exempt from military service.
