Tuvalkane

Steelsinger Tuvalkane is an Ancestor in Soulframe. After meeting her in her introductory Fable, 'The Steelsinger', she will move to the Nightfold and offer the ability to Craft and Reforge equipment.

Tuvalkane wears the Steelsinger's Armour Set, and her outfit may be obtained by the player.

Upon first unlocking Tuvalkane, she will begin at Bond Rank 1. The bond between her and the Envoy, also known as Crafting Rank XP, may be increased via two means;

• The first time any new (i.e. not previously forged) recipe is crafted; whether from Fragments, forging Chordstones, and beyond. Items must be Claimed in order to yield the Bond increase, so the Envoy must have enough Storage Capacity to do this.
  • Certain equipment requires a higher Bond with Tuvalkane to craft, and so it may be necessary to focus on crafting lower-tier gear at first until Tuvalkane will craft more powerful equipment.

• Refining Weapons also grants Crafting XP the first time a Weapon reaches each new Craftwork tier, ignoring duplicates of the same Weapon.
  • For example, refining any Orst-III to a new Craftwork for the first time will grant XP for Orst-III at that tier. Once any Orst-III has been refined to its maximum Craftwork, no further XP is awarded from refining further Orst-IIIs.

Upon reaching Bond Rank 2, the Envoy will unlock Reforging at Tuvalkane. This may be accessed via the Reforge tab of the Crafting Menu.

This is the current maximum Bond Rank for Tuvalkane. Once this cap is reached, additional new crafts or refinements will no longer grant XP until the cap is increased.

Tuvalkane is the successor to Kane, legendary Steelsinger. Until her death, she spent her days hammering away in her smithing shack. Now, in her afterlife, she continues to do so for the Envoy; even though she is relentlessly harsh on herself about her work. Perhaps, with the Envoy's help, she may learn to take pride in the art of Steelsinging once more.

• According to a note written on the concept art for the Tuvalkane Mannequin, Tuvalkane keeps the severed head of her grandfather and mentor, Steelsinger Kane, within the Moonsteel Helm she carries.
• Tuvalkane is likely inspired by Tubal-cain, named as the first blacksmith in the Bible.
