Animals

For the Omen Beasts, see the Omen Beasts page.

Overview
Nature is integral to the world of Soulframe, and its many Animals are no exception.
Specific animals feature in core Gameplay interactions such as Charming or The Organ Operation - and, most importantly, they offer Envoys the power of their Totems.

Mechanics
Land Animals may be Charmed or freed from Sinecure cages to earn Totems. Beavers and Ducks must also be freed from
pools in the first stage of The Organ to allow the beavers to clog its pipes, forcing the Ode to open the main door; whilst the ducks ascend the tower to incapacitate the Organ's
Conductor.
Fish are an upcoming feature to be previewed at Tennocon 2026, and will presumably be involved in a system.
Glimmering Animals
Rarely, one might come across the Glimmering variant of an animal in the wild. These often - but not always - have unique albino appearances, such as white fur or feathers. When charmed, a glimmering animal will always yield a Rare Totem and the highest amount of Harmonies.

Land Animals
A pitter-patter of clever creatures whisper Magicks in the forest, and ‘tis speed of forest-tender that casts it.
Throughout the various biomes of Midrath, a variety of animals can be seen wandering and will shimmer with gold when viewed in Spectral Sight. These animals may be interacted with using Pull Smite to Charm them and earn their Totem.
Beavers
A bulky, semi-aquatic rodent with sharp teeth for building dams, waterproof hair, and a flat, paddle-like tail.
Locations: Lakes, Rivers
Ducks
A waterbound fowl that can paddle over ponds and lakes thanks to its broad, flat bill, short legs, and webbed feet.
Locations: Lakes, Rivers, Shores and Swamps
Fawns
A baby deer, easily recognised by its reddish-brown fur and white spots that provide camouflage in the forest. Should it grow into a stag, it will brandish glorious antlers.
Locations: Forests, Plains
Rabbits
A small, fuzzy mammal with long ears, strong hind legs for hopping, and a short, fluffy tail that is sometimes referred to as a "cotton tail."
Locations: Forests, Plains
Rats
A hardy, intelligent rodent with rounded ears, a long, hairless tail, and a keen sense of smell that they utilise to scavenge and find their way around tiny areas.
Locations: Towns, Swamps, Dermak Undercity
Squirrels
Little, nimble rodents with a big, bushy tail, strong claws for climbing, and a wintertime habit of collecting and burying nuts.
Locations: Forests
Fish
Fish are an upcoming animal type revealed in Devstream 15. More will be revealed about them at Tennocon 2026, and they are currently presumed to be involved in a system.
