Lightning in a Vial is a Mini-Quest discovered by reading a note found in Kairness, a village near the eastern coast of Midrath.

Completing the Mini-Quest will lead the Envoy to discover the Agari known as the

.

• Location: Kairness
• Trigger: Pick up and read a note within a witch's house.

Travel to the village of Kairness near the eastern coast of Midrath. Find a witch's hut in the eastern side of central Kairness, and interact with a Note on the table. It has been left by an escaped witch, and reads as follows:

Storm's coming. Feel it in my knees.

No natural rain, though. Feel that in my witch's wrist. Curse in the sky, it is. Heard its laugh like thunder.

Forgive me, stranger, I cannae stay. The Sinners took the last of my brew to the Kairness ruins and I daren't go find it.

If ye be braver than I, you'll quell the clouds for us all.

Just northeast of Kairness, find and assault a Sinecure encampment. Leave none alive. Once the Sinecure have been eliminated, collect a

Cloudquell

elixir from the table by the tent.

Proceed north-northwest to a small ruin with lightning strikes. Here stands a

; a fearsome Ode'n warrior, accompanied by Sinecure. The Cloudquell may be used to weaken him, but is not necessary nor is it a requirement to complete the Mini-Quest.

Once the Discharged Nimrod has been slain, the Mini-Quest has been completed.

Completing Lightning in a Vial will award the following:

• One Fragment of Odiac

• 2 x Ichor

• 1 x Petrified Ichor

• 200 Dracs

The Envoy may also loot the

Agaric

mushroom grown from the Discharged Nimrod's corpse to draw from his regular loot pool - a

may also appear amongst the ruins.

Neither this Mini-Quest, nor the Note gathered, will be recorded in the Journal; the note may be re-read from its original location, but will despawn after relogging. The Mini-Quest is not currently replayable.

• Discharged Nimrod will despawn once this Mini-Quest is picked up, and will not spawn again until the Cloudquell is collected.

• The wall above the front door of the Kairness witch's hut was marked with the sigil of the Silent Rose, until it was removed in Preludes 13 Hotfix 3.
